These past spring months have been so busy for us.

Our four latest rescues have taken up plenty of our time as we’ve tended to their medical conditions and ensured they receive plenty of love to help them settle in. And while we’ve welcomed more equines (and one pooch!) to our centre, we also farewelled two of our beloved residents.

In between welcoming and farewelling family members, it’s been a case of business as usual. We’ve castrated four of our boys: Melvin, Elfie, Elton and Lawrence. Goldie has had some health concerns which have needed attention, including the removal of a melanoma and more botox injections to treat her retracted tendons and severe laminitis.  And on top of all that, Sue was struck down ill for several days requiring bed rest and prompting us to call out for more volunteers to help with the arduous task of mucking out our stables each morning.

We have 32 stables which need cleaning out daily, and at 62 and 69 years of age, Sue and Rod are feeling physically exhausted but can’t afford to pay someone to do this job. If you have time to spare, please consider volunteering today.
