Easy Horse Care Rescue Centre

Our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate abused, neglected and abandoned horses, ponies and donkeys, while campaigning for the better treatment of animals across Spain. We are a no-kill foundation and provide each rescued animal with a safe and loving sanctuary – either here at our centre or via rehoming – for the rest of their lives.

Hannah

Hannah

Hannah is an absolutely beautiful horse. A three day eventer and class A showjumper who has competed all over the world, winning numerous championships, Hannah is not the type of horse you would expect to find at a rescue centre. Hannah came to us not because she had owners who didn't care, but because her owners cared so much.

When they were struck down with ill health and forced to return to the UK, Hannah's owners were desperately worried for Hannah. At 24 she was too old to make the journey with them and they feared for her future. They thought that if they put her in a livery yard in Spain she might be ridden, even though she should now be retired, or worse, due to her championship status, used for breeding. Knowing this would cause her dreadful suffering, they came to the heartbreaking conclusion that the only option was to have her put down.

Fortunately, they then heard about us and asked if we could help. Of course, we immediately offered Hannah a retirement home at the Centre.

Hannah passed away in February 2014.
