Charity our first rescue donkey, was spotted in a piece of rough ground very close to the centre and immediately the Easy Horse Care Rescue Centre was alerted. Within 24 hours and the help of the public we were able to rescue Charity and another two donkeys, who were subsequently rehomed. Very, very sadly, one of the rehomed donkeys died 5 days later.
Charity is approximately 20 years old, however her teeth had been so badly neglected that she couldn't chew and digest her food correctly. This is what probably led Charity to loose so much weight, but as with alot of rescued horses, their history is unknown. She has now received initial dental treatment. It will take months if not years of treatment but her teeth and mouth will never be like that of a normal horse or donkey. Her hooves also need attention. With care and attention we hope she will survive.
