Bronte
Rescued: October 21, 2009
Bronte was 12 when she came to live at our centre, and her placement in our care was not because she was neglected or abused, but because she had owners who cared very much for her.
She is a well-bred competition horse who originally came over to Spain from the UK with two other horses named Hannah and Rhani. Hannah was actually Bronte’s mother and was 24 at the time, while Rhani was 14 years old.
The owners of these three horses later became seriously ill with life-threatening diseases and were forced to return to the UK. Unable to afford to transport their three horses back with them, the owners also had nowhere to house them even if they did manage to get them home.
Concerned for the welfare of their horses, they approached our centre to see if we could help.
