Donkey Oaty
Rescued: July 3, 2013
Donkey Oaty was once regularly dressed up in costumes and paraded around as the mascot for an English riding school based in southern Spain.
However, when the school went bust, the owner returned to the UK and simply abandoned Donkey Oaty as well as several horses.
Thankfully, one of our keen supporters, Linda Michelle Torr, heard about the case and alerted us to Donkey Oaty’s plight. She had already managed to rehome the abandoned horses and asked us to step in and help this gorgeous little donkey. Of course, we agreed.
Brought to our rescue centre in July 2013, he immediately made friends with a young donkey named Sancho Panza – so, continuing the theme of Spain’s famous Don Quixote book, we settled on the rather funny name of Donkey Oaty.
A happy-go-lucky young fellow, Donkey Oaty is now a friend to all, both equine and human.
