November/December newsletter: Wishing you all a very happy Christmas
What an amazing year 2017 has been. As always it was filled with incredible ups and also some downs. We achieved some wonderful things, such as building our new secure boundary fence, receiving our first ever grant (€4000 towards our new digger from Pikolinos) and celebrating our ninth anniversary.
We rescued nine equines in need this year (though that number may well increase before the year's out), found a forever-home for Solo, and sadly said goodbye to three of our beloved rescued horses – Hurricane, Crystal and George – who were simply very old.
Next year we will, as always, be focusing our energies on fundraising. Without any government assistance, we continue to be reliant on our now dwindling personal savings, the revenue from our charity shops and your kind donations.
As you all know, our horses, ponies and donkeys aren't regular equines. They all have special needs because of past abuse and neglect. Despite our best efforts, we are not able to re-home many due to their often expensive ongoing needs. So we must find ways to raise more money to care for them.
